Syntax: StatusWindow
...for those few of us who experience occasional bouts of raving paranoia about dwindling memory, StatusWindow puts up a modeless dialog that displays:
Ñ Macintosh Type & CPU (& FPU, if
installed) in its title bar
Ñ Current RAM unused/available
Ñ Current time
Ñ Current stack name, size, & unused
stack space
plus...
Ñ Buttons for:
1) Compacting the application heap
and/or compacting the current stack
2) Basic HyperCard navigation
between & within stacks
3) Opening another stack or
another application
4) Displaying the current date.
StatusWindow is a renamed and upgraded version of the XFCN MaxApplZone originally contained in the GEnie/CompuServe file MAXMEM.SIT. For a new, simpler version of the MaxApplZone XFCN suitable for independent use in HyperCard stacks, see the the file MAXAPPLZONE.SIT.
RECENT Button: Takes you to the previous stack accessed under StatusWindow. Option-Click displays the HyperCard "Recent" window for stack/card selection.
COMPACT Button: Compacts the application heap, freeing currently unused memory. Option-Click compacts the current HyperCard stack before compacting the application heap.
DATE Button: Momentarily displays the current date.
OPEN Button: Displays the standard SFGetfile Dialog, allowing transfer to either another HyperCard stack or any other application (except HyperCard).
NEXT, PREV, HOME icons operate just as they do in HyperCard.
